Dr Rey Ty is Insight on Conflict's Philippines Local Peacebuilding Expert. A social critic and political observer, he has wide experience in academia and practical approaches to peacebuilding, human rights, gender and social justice issues, with a focus on training peace activists. As the training coordinator of the International Training Office of Northern Illinois University from 2004 to 2014, he was involved in training hundreds of Muslims, indigenous peoples, and Christians in interfaith dialogue, conflict resolution, civic engagement, leadership, strategic planning, programme planning, and community development. Rey has a doctorate in education with cognate in Political Science from Northern Illinois University.
