Created in 2000, Bata Boko works on environmental protection and the long term management of natural resources with women and young people in the Central African Republic (CAR). The organisation has worked with women across the country, helping them to be more active within their community on environmental issues.
The crisis CAR has faced in recent years saw the organisation use its experiencs to promote peace. Its peacebuilding approach is based on giving support, training and livelihood opportunities to vulnerable youth involved in armed groups.
Recently it reinforced the capacity of 50 young people in the 3rd district of Bangui by providing them with training to take care of pigs. It also organised social cohesion discussions involving women, youth and traditional leaders.
