The Institute for Policy, Advocacy, and Governance (IPAG) is a Dhaka based think tank which works to improve democratic institutions and structures in Bangladesh. It is a non-profit, self-sufficient, government-accepted international organisation that puts most of its efforts on territorial coordination and collaboration, economic excellence, state and foreign affairs, the sustainable use of natural resources to accompany the economy, religious tolerance, advancement of non-government institutions, and fair marketing tactics.
IPAG runs a study to accumulate proof relating to law-making. Its provides assistance, promotion and facilitation of discussion with key figures, as well as creating a platform where stakeholders from different streams can join together for the betterment of their respective interests. This institute has earned fame for supporting cooperation.
IPAG believes that only democratic structures grounded in justice, prudence and good administration can serve the people. It also targets economic equality, to strengthen the impoverished.
IPAG has undertaken a number of study and advisory programmes to solidify inter-religious relationships. It is currently working to enhance trust among different religious groups through discussion, study, and advisory sessions among representatives from trade, politics, religion, and intellectuals.

Towards Sustainable Development: Lessons from MDG & Pathways for SDG:
As the world moves towards the path of sustainable and inclusive growth, the 17 SDGs, as set out by the Agenda 2030, need to build on the successes of the MDGs, while including novel areas such as climate change, economic inequality, innovation, sustainable consumption, peace and justice, among other priorities. Towards that end, more than 100 development professionals attended an international conference on “Towards Sustainable Development: Lessons from MDG & Pathways for SDG”organized by The Institute for Policy, Advocacy, and Governance (IPAG), with support from the Economic Relations Division (ERD), Government of Bangladesh. The seminar highlighted the successes of developing countries like Bangladesh in achieving MDGs and how lessons learnt from MDG can help achieve the SDGs. Discussions included the resource constraints faced by developing countries in meeting MDGs and SDGs and the role of international development agencies for facilitating transition from MDG to SDG. The seminar was attended by multilateral institutions like UN, UNDP, WB and IFC as well as leading think tanks, academia, civil society and media from the US. Due to the overall success and effectiveness of the event, the participants look forward to more engaging platforms in the future. Everyone agreed that Bangladesh is a success story that needs to be highlighted in the international arena and can act as a model for other developing countries in devising their SDG inititatives.
