The Videh Foundation was established in 2007 in order to support women, especially those from the Terai/Madhes, in their involvement in peace and constitution making process. The foundation organises workshops and trainings on all aspects of the Nepalese political system, such as the constituent assembly, the constition-making process and women's agendas in the new constitution.

It has conducted a "Training of Trainers" under the title "Constituent assembly and constitution making process" and brought some of the participants to facilitate the workshops and trainings. More than 500 local women leaders were directly advanced from these programmes. As well as these district level workshops, four national level workshops were organised with Constituent Assembly members, senior political leaders including women leaders, women activists, constitutional experts and other concerned people. The organisation beleived these workshops to be very meaningful in the sense that they were a reflection of the local programmes and successfully published a 43-point declaration on women's agendas in the new constitution, which was handed over to the chairperson of the Constituent Assembly.

Electoral Education Program

Videh Foundation organised electoral education programs in 16 districts of the eastern region before the elections in November 2013 in second time. The objectives of the program were to ensure high levels of participation, to ensure women votes were not missing, and to minimize voting errors. The ultimate goal of the program was to strengthen people's ownership in the new constitution.
