Academy for Peace and Development (APD) was established to consolidate peace in Somaliland and contribute to the smooth transition to democracy. APD is a think tank that serves as a non-partisan platform for peaceful political dialogue and democratic governance.

APD focuses on action-based research across various regions of Somaliland. This research serves to better understand the underlying causes of conflicts in the region and then inform policy makers, both internal and external, on lessons learnt and how best to resolve conflicts.

The organisation produces a wide range of audio visual productions that support its peacebuilding and development research activities. These productions have been very well received locally and internationally.
