Hello all,Staff and volunteers from the Nepal Peacebuilding Initiative (NPI) will be working in the districts most affected by the 2015 earthquake, in order to provide emergency supplies to those most in need. These include: tents, blankets, mosquito nets, food, drinking water and medicines (predominately for diarrhea, flu and other such diseases that are particularly high risk in such circumstances). The NPI has personnel in the districts of Nuwakot, Sindhupalchowk, Gorkha, Dhadhing, and Kavre, some of the worst hit by the quake.
The NPI will prioritize women and children, as experience from prior earthquakes informs us that it is these groups that are left most vulnerable in the wake of a natural disaster of this form and scale. Displacement of any kind renders its victims both unprotected and helpless in the open spaces in which they are forced to reside.
The NPI will collaborate with other organizations and government agencies wherever possible. We will ensure that your support directly benefits the people most in need at this desperate time. All transactions and expenses will be audited in a wholly transparent way. The NPI commits to sending monthly updates of our work on request.
Thank you for your assistance.
