Morten Jerven is associate professor at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. He has published widely on African economic development including a recent book, Poor Numbers: How We Are Misled by African Development Statistics and What to Do about It, published by Cornell University Press in 2013, which has been well received (see Lancet and Nature). Jerven’s second book, Economic Growth and Measurement Reconsidered in Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania, and Zambia, 1965-1995, will be published by Oxford University Press in 2014.
