Sylvia Khela
Sylvia Khela is a young Egyptian woman, born and raised in Giza. She has a bachelor's degree in Agriculture Sciences with a major in Rural community development from Cairo University. She also recently completed her Joint master’s degree in International Humanitarian Action from both the university of Warsaw and Uppsala University (major in Peace Studies).
Sylvia is currently leading a peacebuilding initiative called SAWA (meaning together), funded by KAICIID. The initiative is aiming to bring young Muslim and Christian youth to learn about dialogue and to focus on the commonalities among them as well as their common heritage as Egyptians.
She’s also a soprano singer with Cairo Celebration Choir. She loves nature, music and cycling. She is a researcher, humanitarian practitioner, and peacebuilder and a blogger.
