Africare Peace Initiative (API) is a non-profit humanitarian organization, committed to empowering communities facing the challenges of economic hardship and persistent violence. The organization was founded in 2020 and registered in 2021 with the Corporate Affairs Commission, Abuja, Nigeria - registration number: IT-166157.

We work to address the root causes of poverty and economic hardship across Africa, building resilience and giving hope to vulnerable families. We envision an Africa where everyone, regardless of their background or belief, has the opportunity to thrive and lead a life free from poverty and conflict. Through our peacebuilding and livelihood support programs, we restore hope for vulnerable families. Our programs empower communities, build resilience, and equip individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to overcome hardship and become self-sufficient.

Our Approach

In our peacebuilding effort, we take holistic approaches that include:

• Peace Education: Where we organize workshops and training sessions that teach conflict resolution and nurture a culture of peace among community members and students.
• Economic Empowerment: We provide vocational training for women and teenage girls, to start small businesses that can help them become financially independent, so as to support themselves and their families.
• Education: We provide educational support and scholarships to vulnerable children, making sure that they have access to quality education and a brighter future.
• Gender Equality: We run programs that empower women and girls and ensure they have equal opportunities to succeed.
• Leadership Development: We cultivate young leaders through mentorship and training programs, preparing them to drive positive change in their communities.
• Community Engagement: We work closely with local communities to understand their unique needs and develop solutions that promote harmony and growth.

Our Impact

Africare Peace Initiative (API) has in the last 4 years successfully touched the lives of over 1000 lives. From educational scholarships, empowerment, and community peacebuilding events, our efforts have significantly improved the quality of life and social cohesion. We measure our success by the smiles of those we help and the positive transformations in their lives. We believe that true peace is not just the absence of violence, but building a world where everyone has access to safety, freedom, justice, and equal opportunities.
