Since the beginning of armed conflict in Ukraine in 2014 the Donbass Dialogue Platform has been developing the community who are looking the ways for the peace and nonviolent resolution of conflict in Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
The network membership of online community has been expanded up to 325 participants of 60 by the start. The crowdsourcing elaboration within network allows to prepare and work with taboo issues cultivated in the fragile society affected by war. Four marathons included activities shown the recognition of the practice of online dialogues during the hot stage of the conflict with participation of the professional community at the ukrainian and international levels were conducted. More than 120 participants took part in the dialogue marathons on the offline platform in the conflict zone.
Each online dialogue between local representatives of community who couldn't meet and live in the one side of the line of demarcation provided the opportunity to talk with other side, to listen and probably to understand the others that launches the wider discussion about chances for together future and willingness to the peace process Swiss Embassy (Kiev representatives) with small grant for the organization of first marathon, International Alert (Kiev) with promotion of online dialogue as a methodology and UNDP (New York) have contributed to support our initiative (the one in the region within local).
