In 2015 in Islamabad, a group of like minded people with diverse experience of the development sector and a single passion to serve humanity founded a Trust that would become Initiative for Peace and Development (IPAD). As an NGO, it is an initiative to promote peace and work for marginalized communities with a focus to provide quality education, assist with health facilities, support women empowerment, capacity building, and economic development.

IPAD has arranged training at  Lang Khair Shah, District Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,  on the project called “Initiative to increase opportunities for income generation of farmers” with poor farmers. IPAD has arranged an event “Qawali for Peace” in collaboration with PYA that engages the youth of  the city to spread a message of Peace through music.

IPAD arranged ICT for Peace and Harmony, a seminar in which speakers from different religions such as Islam, Christianity and Hinduism.  Different sects of Islam sat together and gave their views on how peace could be brought in the society. The audience were also allowed to participate in this seminar and give their suggestions on the peace process. This project has brought a major change in minds of people as everyone got to know views of other religions and everyone emphasized that everyone needs to work together to bring peace in our society.

In 2016, IPAD organized a Peace Football match among the youth of Islamabad to give a message that peace can be brought in society by every possible means, and sports has always played an important role in bringing peace in the world. The basic purpose of this event was spreading a peace message through sports.

Swat is among most terrorism-affected districts of Pakistan. In response to this IPAD arranged a 3-day “Peace Badminton Championship” in 2016 in collaboration with Swat Badminton Association in Swat by engaging youth and veterans of city.
