The key mission of Voice of Woman is the emancipation of women and awareness-raising about the position and role of women in the post-conflict, transitioning society of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The organisation's mission and goals are attained by providing free legal assistance, humanitarian aid, counselling, as well as through advocacy and diverse educational activities primarily aimed at women and young people, being amongst the most vulnerable groups in the country.
Through pro-active engagement in promotion and protection of human/women rights – primarily in the area of Bihac and Una-Sana canton – the organisation has been consistently working on creation and development of community based principles of democracy, tolerance, non-violence, peace and equality. After nearly a decade of their existence, the organisation has been recognised by women, but also by other members of their local community, as key actors by providing them a voice, raising their visibility and contributing to improvement of their position in the society. Through their advocacy campaigns and dedicated promotion of the Law on Gender Equality in the municipalities of Bihac (2005/2006) and Bosanska Krupa (2007), 'Voice of Woman' significantly contributed to its fuller implementation by municipal and cantonal authorities.
