Youth Engaged for Development and Social Progress (YEDSP) is a non-profit organisation engaged in peacebuilding and development actions in the Democratic Republic of Congo in general and more particularly in the province of North Kivu. Created in 2018 in Goma, DRC in the context where there are the persistence of several challenges related to peace and development especially in the East of the country.

Therefore, we created YEDSP with the objective of contributing to the development of vulnerable communities and promoting the socio-economic progress of youth.

YEDSP ASBL has a dream of a world in which the youth take ownership of the duty of development through their commitment and a more sustainable world where the living conditions of communities are favorable.

Our mission is to enhance the well-being of communities by contributing to the social progress of youth and the development of vulnerable communities. We work to make young people aware of their potentials and equip them with the resources required to exploit them.

Our values are: commitment, solidarity and progress

Achievements:

  • YEDSP participates in youth exchanges in the Great Lakes countries for the restoration of peace.
  • Raising awareness of the NYIRAGONGO volcano disaster victims for peace building and distributing chlorine slime to fight against diseases in the camps and host families.
  • In order to contribute to the change of mentality of the youth of the NYIRAGONGO territory on the subject of active non-violent communication, YEDSP organised awareness sessions on active non-violent communication,
  • Awareness raising on the fight against juvenile delinquency, pimping and sexual vagrancy.
