The Association for Social Research “Global ANALYTICS” was formed by a group of young people, predominantly women, with the aim of contributing to the anti-war campaign and a commitment to upholding the rule of law. The Association also helps in countering, combating and preventing violent extremism and radicalism in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
The association has established contacts with other NGOs from the region as well as with individual experts from different fields, including sociology, political science, law, investigative journalism, security and peace studies. The members of the association have experience in working with other international and non-governmental organisations, and are working on several research projects on the subjects of violent extremism and radicalism. The association posts regular analysis and materials on their website, with a goal to inform the widest possible audience about events and developments affecting the security situation.
A particular goal of the Association is to reduce the potential negative aspect of social networks on spreading or encouraging violence and extremism. In cooperation with the Law Students' Association Sarajevo, it has held several seminars for students on the themes of juvenile delinquency and illegal weapons. They have also organised a roundtable ("Illegal armament in high risk groups") which gathered representatives of civil societies engaged in peacebuilding and student organisations to work on security issues.
The Association brings together top psychologists, sociologists, experts in the field of security and journalism. Their research team consists of people of different multi-ethnic backgrounds, as well as people who are trained to speak several languages, including English, German, Spanish, French, Turkish and Albanian.
