The Peace Village was started in 2001 after the events of September 11 and the riots in Cincinnati. The Peace Village promotes peace throughout the city of Cincinnati and in other countries of the world. Throughout the Peace Village's existence, the Peace Village has worked promoting peace in churches, schools, synagogues, mosques, and many programs in order to make a difference concerning hunger issues and poverty stricken areas, as well as other conflicts that involve promoting peace.
The Peace Villages has worked in improving the police force's relationship with the community. Other projects that have taken place in the past (or will take place), include improving the experience in hospital settings helping patients and health workers find satisfying means of caring, and using peace and grief work with young children seeking friendship and support in an inner city youth center.
The Peace Village is an organisation that is just getting started in helping to promote peace by reducing hunger in countries in a tsunami hit area. Dr. Sunderland and his associates of the Peace Village will continue to build on and act on ideas of peaceful development. Hopefully, the Peace Village will continue to expand and be successful in getting its message across the world.
