Teach the Children Peace Foundation was created in 2009 by experienced educators and counsellors who were confronted with in pain and in conflict. As a result, thier goal is to give children the skills and tools needed to bring resolution to conflict through nonviolent methods.
Here are some examples of activities this foundation has supported or sponsored by giving grants to teachers and at-risk students in local public schools:
- Field trips to the Museum of Tolerance - this programme has benefited over 1,000 students fro, the Los Angeles Public Schools.
- Peace Essay contest held at elementary and middle school.
- Acts of Kindness Project at local elementary and middle school. Students create an Act of Kindness Chain with examples of random acts they performed.
- Scholarships to the Model UN Program for middle school students.
