Created in February 2016, Caring for Impact Ministries (CIM) works in Rwanda promoting life in all its fullness among the youth. This initiative derives from the recognition of the vulnerability of youth regarding the interwoven challenges of trauma, peace and development in post-conflict society and following the risks on their pathway to flourish and to reach their destiny.
The mission of CIM is to promote the psychological resilience of the youth, help them relate with their past, equip them with values that will enable them to choose non-violent approaches to life and conflict and withstand any cause of division and equipping them with relevant skills and attitudes required for Rwanda's current and future labour market, economic and social demands.
CIM operates in three main areas:
- Psychosocial-therapy: the organisation holds group and individual therapies, and provide workshops and trainings for trauma healing, awareness and prevention
- Peacebuilding: the organisations runs healing and reconciliation workshop, peace tournament and impact conferences
- Community development: CIM hosts development seminars for healed and reconciled vulnerable group and support their owned livelihood initiatives. They also prepare future generations by promoting early childhood development programs such as 'Positive parenting'
Under the above themes, CIM has managed to reach directly 1,784 beneficiaries including genocide survivors and perpetrators, indeed their relatives university and high school students, church leaders and key community members, nursery and high school mentors and street children. As a result, people are ready to become the voice of reconciliation, hope and mediator of truth and justice.
